Toni Gonzaga: UNO’s centerfold this January!
The witty, vibrant, and religious Toni Gonzaga will be UNO’s centerfold on its January issue.
Toni Gonzaga’s exotic and unique appeal to the people was the reasons why the company chose her. Diether Ocampo, UNO’s owner, said in an interview that they [management] had a hard time to convince Toni’s parents because of the sweet and wholesome image Toni portrays behind and in front of the camera.
The management promised the stage parents to make the pictorials and dresses to look more ‘safe’ and ‘comfy’ for the readers of the men magazine. As seen to its final product, it was as safe as the management promised. The pictorial was inspired in a Japanese theme.
BECOMING 23
Toni celebrated her 23rd birthday in ASAP ’07 last Sunday at Channel 2. Close friends made a comical skit in the various highlights and intrigues Toni had face during her 6 years in showbiz.
She’s 23 and she is now ready to let boys or maybe Sam Milby to be the center of her life now. Well, for us, just wait and what will happen next.

Toni, together with Zanjoe Marudo and Sam Milby, will have their valentine treat for all the people out there. They will make you love, laugh, and cry in Star Cinema’s valentine offering this Febrauary. But before that, let Vhong Navarro, Toni’s leading man in the hit film D’ ANOTHERS, will be having his sure fire hit this January. Agent X44 is now showing to almost 100 theaters nationwide.
HELLO PHILIPPINES and HELLO WORLD
Toni reassured her fans and to her critics that she won’t change her image. After seeing her in the recent Pinoy Dream Academy, she will accompany you this March for the grand launching of Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 wherein she was known of with this opening: ‘Hello Philippines and Hello world!’. As for now, you can catch her on ASAP ’07 and Wazz up, Wazz up.
NEW SHOWS FOR ABS-CBN & GMA
New shows for New Year. ABS-CBN will have their new primetime bida shows that will surely take the viewers attention more. Sana Maulit Muli did their pilot episode last
January 8 and it is being lead by the former Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Grand Winner Kim Chui and first runner-up Gerald Anderson. Also, Star Circle Quest Grand Winner Erich Gonzales and first runner-up Aron Villaflor, Tonton Gutierrez, Glydel Mercado, and Micky Ferriols were also cast in this different story. Rounin, which lead, by Diether Ocampo and Angelica Panganiban is an action series that will highlight special video effects and out oif this world portrayal of charcacters of today’s hottest young stars. Rounin is an action-drama that will make your world go loco and surprise us with new trend in terms of acting and special effects. Another in line for the Kapamilya’s out there is the radio hit in 70’s ‘Flor de Luna’. It’s a tearjerker drama series for ABS-CBN this time. Like the successful transition of radio drama Gulong ng Palad and Komiks based stories like Bituing Walang Ningnig to TV, ABS-CBN will surely bring you another top-notch drama that’s very true to its original script. With caliber director Jerry Lopez-Sineneng at the helm, Maria Flordeluna has a very powerful cast line-up that includes Vina Morales, Albert Martinez, Liza Lorena, Nash Aguas, Kristel Fulgar and Eula Valdez.
Eliza Pineda, a familiar kid on the small screen, will be playing the very charming Maria Flordeluna. Eliza is currenly appearing on hit comedy show Going Bulilit and has had plum roles on Bituin as the young Desiree Del Valle and on Maging Sino Ka Man as the young Bea Alonzo. She also played Piolo Pascual’s daughter in the Star Cinema blockbuster ‘Til There Was You. The young girl bested 1,300 kids who have auditioned for the role of Maria Flordeluna. When asked why she thinks she got chosen, her only reply was, "Siguro po mabilis po talaga kasi ako umiyak."
Meanwhile, GMA would never give up in giving new primetime telebabad (as they prefer to call it). Will add LUPIN and SUPER TWINS. Lupin is then lead by Richard Gutierrez, Katrina Halili and the rest of young actors and actresses in GMA 7. It was based in the Japanese Anime ‘Lupin’. The show incorporates action scenes and out of this world stunts. Richard Gutierrez plays a most wanted thief in the country and their chase towards treasures.
Super Twins, on the other hand, is lead by Starstruck Season 1’s products, Jennelyn Mercado and Nadine Samonte with the hot matinee idol Dennis Trillo. The story revolves around the twins and their journey towards saving the world to the evils around them. Their Kapuso audiences will see the 2 show in the second quarter of this year.
Another sure-fire highest raters, Asian Treasures is an engaging story involving the quest for hidden treasures that date back from the start of Philippine civilization. It is said that these treasures were gathered from different parts of Asia by 10 Bornean Datus who formed a city in a place known as Itim na Ginto (Black Gold). This secret has been passed on among the descendants of two groups of Filipinos – the KKK (Kapatirang Kumakalinga ng Kayamanan), who wants to protect the treasures, and the Sudama, the group who has selfish intentions in finding the treasures. Coming from the lineage of the KKK, Gabriela (Angel Locsin) is an iron-willed young lass who was well-trained in the field of combat for an all-important task of carrying on the mission of her ancestors. Since the Sudama have begun an aggressive pursuit of the hidden treasures, even obliterating KKK members who got in the way of their quest, the KKK needs to get ahead to be able to protect the treasures. In an unlikely turn of events, Gabriela’s path will cross with the wisecracking auto-mechanic-cum-stuntman Elias (Robin Padilla) who will be her companion in her special mission. Together, they will travel in different parts of Asia in search of the 10 powerful amulets and the clues leading to where the 10 Datus hid their Asian Treasures. As they face peril after peril in their Asian adventures, Elias and Gabriela will find something more precious than the treasures they are after – for they will soon realize that love has the ultimate power to turn their lives around.
